Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the church of Christ?
A: The church of Christ is the church you read about in the New Testament. It strives to follow only those religious practices that are authorized by the Bible, and not add to or take away from what the Bible teaches. In essence to be the same as the first century church in what we teach, preach and practice.

Q: Why don't you use musical instruments in your services?
A: The New Testament does not provide either a command to use musical instruments, or an approved example of their use in the first century church. This means that we do not have scriptural authority to use musical instruments in worship to God. Since we strive to not add to God's Word, then this means that we cannot use musical instruments in services. (Revelation 22:18-19; Galatians 1:8)

Q: Do you believe that you are better moraly than other people?
A: We recognize that there are many good moral people in other religions, and in our community. We are happy to have such persons as our friends and neighbors. We encourage our members to adhere to the strict moral code of God's Word, but we do not claim that we are the only ones who do this.
